this is not really about the fuel additive that you’re mentioning, but more about the chevron pump fuel in general. Unless you don’t drive your car for years, there is really no need for any additives, but to each their own. If you have idle issues without the additive you have other problems that need addressing. We have dyno tested Chevron from both Canada, and the USA. Canada has a 94 octane rating with 0% ethanol. USA chevron 30 minutes south has a 92 octane rating with 10% ethanol. Both fuels were put in MUlTIPLE cars to test knock threshold in the same environment/settings, on the same day/temperature. The USA 92 octane out performed our “94” octane substantially. 3-4 different cars were consistently running about 2-4psi more without timing being pulled on the 92. My Z will only run 13ish psi on our chevron 94 LOL. Moral of the story is that chevron is shit fuel without ethanol, and decent fuel with ethanol. We just recently got shell 93 octane with 10% E in all our pumps and it’s blowing the doors off the chevron 94 here.
